Our Retaining Wall Construction: Built to Last

At Barefoot & Associates, we know that any hardscaping, retaining walls or paving we do in your NC outdoor living space has to be built to last. We uphold the highest level of standards in our hardscape construction.

When building a retaining wall, for example, we make sure the base level of the wall is at the proper depth and compacted well, to prevent future problems from soil move or settling. We pay particular attention to the detail areas of the wall, such as the cap. We custom cut the stones and make sure that they all fit well, there are no major gaps, and the retaining wall is solidly and properly engineered.

Our stone paving shows the same attention to detail and high level of craftsmanship at every step in the process:

  1. The paving stone is cut and laid out in the proper pattern.
  2. The outside edge is cut with a concrete saw to give the paved patio or walkway a clean, neat edge.
  3.  Polymeric sand is tapped into the spaces and vibrated into the joints between the stones.
Our method of installing the polymeric sand will make it last longer and prevent future maintenance. Vibrating the polymeric sand into place will keep vegetation from growing in between stones and prevent the sand from washing away or eroding. Our high quality of work ensures you will be left with a paved patio or walkway that will last for years to come.
